Reporting Child Abuse
Child abuse includes physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or exploitation that threatens a child’s safety and well-being. Recognizing the warning signs can help protect a child and connect families to support and resources.
If a child is in danger, call 911 immediately
Filing a Report
Include

The child’s name and location
-
The parents’ names and address
-
Your name and the name of your agency, organization, or school

A clear and concise description of the abuse and neglect with as many specific details as possible
If a Child Discloses Abuse:

Stay calm and listen

Reassure the child
-
Do not blame or pressure them
-
Seek medical attention if needed
-
Report the abuse to authorities
