What You Can Do

Prevent Child Abuse

Child abuse includes physical abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or exploitation that threatens a child’s safety and well-being. Recognizing the warning signs can help protect a child and connect families to support and resources.

Physical Safety

  • Stay involved in your child’s life

  • Encourage open communication

  • Teach body safety and boundaries

  • Monitor online activity and social media

  • Trust your instincts when something feels wrong

Cyber Safety

Help children practice safe and responsible online behavior:

  • Discuss privacy and social media safety

  • Talk openly about cyberbullying

  • Encourage children to report uncomfortable online interactions

  • Keep communication ongoing and judgment-free
